The building was constructed in 1928 as a hotel named Excelsior, located in the heart of the commercial and business center of Thessaloniki. Its three-sided, perfectly symmetrical façade facing the small square formed by Mitropoleos and Komninon streets was shaped by interventions throughout the years and was restored according to the original plans by Architect Aser Matalon. This is a building with distinct neoclassical elements that were preserved by the architectural firm 3SK Stylianidis Architects.
