Main event
The main event of OPEN HOUSE Thessaloniki, OPEN TOURS, involves a weekend of free architectural tours of numerous buildings and spaces in the city with architectural interest. This event takes place once a year, at the end of November. Dozens of buildings with architectural interest open their doors –historical, but also modern, public and private, residences, work spaces, cultural spaces, museums, religious spaces, monuments etc– while the guided tours of the event are undertaken by volunteers.
The program has been announced here.
FOR ATTENDING THE TOURS:
1. Study the program.
2. Create HERE your electronic identity (visitor QR code) in order to attend the guided tours.*
3. Visit the spaces that interest you during their opening hours.
4. Wait for your turn to follow the tour. Entrance by order of priority (based on the time of arrival at each space, during the opening hours) and at set intervals.
* The creation of an electronic identity (QR code) is required for each visitor. The electronic identity does not correspond to a reservation or priority queue, it simply facilitates the process of recording visitors to the buildings they are visiting. To facilitate the process, visitors can create their electronic identity (QR) before visiting the venues via a link that will be announced here a week in advance. The electronic ID for the parallel activities (Nov 16-17) is different from the one for the main event (Nov 23-24).
No reservations are made.
Entrance is free for all.
Visitors are advised to arrive in time in the buildings they wish to visit, as after the end of the opening hours, the building closes. Therefore, if there is a waiting time you may not be able to follow the tour.
Guided tours in English are available in all buildings.
Visitors must follow and respect the special requirements that a space may have in order to enter (eg. no photos, entrance without shoes or with plastic covers, ID demonstration).
Organizers can enter with priority in tours.
